Head of the Society for the Protection of Consumer Rights Mikhail Anshakov detained

Chairman of the Society for the Protection of Consumer Rights Mikhail Anshakov was detained. On his Facebook page, he writes that he was taken off the train. Currently, he is in the Khamovniki police department. Anshakov reports that no charges were brought against him, but since he has an outstanding conviction in the case of libel against the leadership of the Christ the Savior Cathedral Foundation, he was told that "he will be imprisoned on this basis."

In a libel case, Anshakov was sentenced in May 2013 to a fine of 100,000 rubles. The reason for initiating the case was his interview with Novaya Gazeta, in which he, in particular, said that the management of the fund was involved in scams with donations for the construction of the temple.
