The international historical-educational, human rights and charitable society "Memorial" announced a program of events for October 2015.

October 5 at 18:00 - the opening of the exhibition "From censorship and samizdat to freedom of print. USSR, 1917–1990 ”and the lecture of Vladimir Orlov“ Finding in the affairs of A.I. Ginzburg (1964 and 1967) in the FSB archive "

The exhibition is dedicated to those who in the post -Stalin era decided to be free in a non -free country. The vast majority of the characters in the exhibition paid for the creation and distribution of unquestioned texts for years of prisons, camps, psychiatric hospitals, exile. For some to be free - it was worth life.

The era of the "classic samizdat" lasted about 30 years. In the second half of the 1980s, he was replaced by the samizdat of the era of perestroika, a mass phenomenon, which covered all segments of the population, the regions of the country. The seventy-year kingdom of censorship in the USSR ended in the summer of 1990, when it was legally canceled.

After the opening of the exhibition, a lecture of the researcher of the non -certificate literature of the second half of the 20th century, publisher Vladimir Orlov, will take place “Nakhodka in the affairs of A.I. Ginzburg (1964 and 1967) in the FSB archive. " Among the unique finds, unknown letters of A. Ginzburg, samizdat literary almanacs (including “Anthology of Soviet pathology”), the poem by S. Chudakov, records of home concerts of the bards of the 1960s, socio-political documents and much more.

The film “The Emperor’s Naked Army” is dedicated to the investigation of executions committed by officers of the Japanese army after the end of the war. Throughout the film, the main character is investigating the strange deaths of his army colleagues, and then he almost becomes a killer.

The international memorial continues the cycle of expert lectures and discussions according to the current state, problems and prospects for the development of the Russian state and society "in which country we live." The mass passion for the oral history led to the creation of numerous archives, which contain hundreds and thousands of recorded interviews. What to do with them, how to convey to the reader and researcher such a complex, controversial and to some extent mass material. We are concerned about the issues of their publication, classification, processing - everything where the oral story intersects with computers and the Internet.

Pavel Uvarov is a Russian historian, a specialist in the field of Western European history of the Middle Ages and the early New Age.

As part of the free historical university in 2015-2016, monthly meetings will be held - the conversations “Historian behind the workbench” with scientists using in their work new approaches and methods acting as researchers and as organizers of science, archival and museum affairs. In the focus of these meetings, a historian and his creative laboratory, as well as important problems of today's science and the formation of a historical community.

The plans for conducting lectures and round tables devoted to various problems of our history and historical memory.

The seminar invites researchers of various specialties, graduate students, students - and everyone who, in their professional activities, turns to the history of Russia and Eastern Europe of the twentieth century in one way or another.

October 22 at 19:00 - show of the film "Warsaw Uprising" (2014), executive producer Petr Slovovsky (Poland)

The film talks about the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, seen by the eyes of two brothers, Karel and Vitek, who remove the information and propaganda of the army chronicle by the Bureau of Information and Propaganda of the Army. Despite the fact that they were ordered to shoot the life of the civilian population, young people dream of making a film about a “real” war. In search of suitable materials, the brothers find themselves closer to the uprising and eventually join one of the detachments going to the battle. The ability to remove the “real” war turns into a shock for young people, only now realized where they are. Their main goal is to save the film with invaluable material ...

A team of the Warsaw Uprising Museum (Warsaw) worked on the creation of the film.

October 28 at 18:30-Round table "Nestor Makhno in historical and in modern socio-political discourse"

October 29 from 10:00 to 22:00 - "Return of Names"

On October 29, on the eve of the state day of memory of the victims of political repressions, from 10 a.m. to 10 pm, replacing each other, from year to year we read the names of people who were executed in Moscow during the years of Soviet terror. We have been holding the action for the ninth time, the names sound for 12 hours without stopping, but we have not reached the middle of the list. Over the years of terror, more than 40 thousand people were shot in Moscow.

Name, surname, age, profession, date of execution - thousands of names will sound that day over Lubyanskaya Square. People were shot secretly - we will make the memory of them public.

Come at any time during the day to the Solovetsky stone on Lyuban Square and join the annual memorable action of the international memorial.

October 25 at 19:30 - seminar "Topography of terror: relations of man and Soviet state on the map of Moscow"

The Moscow history of political terror reflects the complex evolution of the repressive apparatus of Soviet power for several decades: from the concentration camps of the early 20s to the use of the labor of prisoners of the Gulag at large post-war construction sites, from night executions in the Petrovsky Park to secret burials in the Don cemetery. The space of the city also hides traces of numerous places of imprisonment: prisons and domzakov, labor colonies and “sharashki”.
