
On Saturday, October 3, after ten years of construction, a new scene of the Evgeny Vakhtangov State Academic Theater will open.
This was announced by Interfax, the director of the theater of Vakhtangov, Kirill Krok. According to him, the theater area increased from 2.5 thousand square meters to 6.2 thousand square meters.
The director also said that the new building is equipped with modern stage equipment, it has a sauna and a fitness room for actors and personnel, and four interactive screens are installed in the lobby, with which visitors will be able to get information about performances and actors.
According to Marat Khusnullin, deputy mayor of Moscow for urban planning and construction, the auditorium is designed for 250 people, the building has storage facilities for storing theatrical requisite.
The construction of the multifunctional complex at the Vakhtangov Theater began in 2002. Subsequently, the investor changed, the construction stopped and was resumed only in 2012. The new theater scene was built by investors without attracting budget funds, the costs amounted to about 1 billion rubles.
On the new stage, the Vakhtangov Theater will open its 95th season. On October 3, the premiere of the play “Minetti” will be held there in the production of the artistic director of the Rimas Tuminas Theater based on the play of the Austrian playwright Thomas Bernhard. The main role will be played by Vladimir Simonov, Lyudmila Maksakov, Agnes Peterson, Alexey Kuznetsov, Maria Volkova and young theater actors are also busy in the production.
