A film about a Chechen who went to fight against Russians to Ukraine

The Artdokfest documentary festival in 2015 will be held in Riga, Moscow and St. Petersburg. The President of the festival Vitaly Mansky tells at Medusa about all the paintings participating in the competition. This time, the director represents the picture "Chechen" Beata Bubenets. "Medusa" publishes films from "Artdokfest" on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

This film is very important because the good real documentary cinema should make our life more voluminous, that is, to withdraw it from the state of stereotypes. Still, in real life there is no white and black, it is always rich in halftones. And this picture, perhaps, is the half -ton that gives us the opportunity (even absolutely denying the main character) to understand more about the processes taking place in Ukraine. After all, this Chechen is in the midst, he is not a single hero-in his reflection, we see a lot.

There is a scene where one Ukrainian, not knowing with whom he communicates, begins to express his opinion about the Chechen people. And how Chechen reacts, realizing that he is being removed is very interesting. The picture is full of absolutely unique visual ones, I will allow myself a rude word, attractions. Yes, here is such an attraction that cannot be seen in a feature cinema simply because of its modeling. There is a direct quote from life, and in some of its peak moments. A very strong episode, when a huge angry crowd goes along Donetsk and requires joining Russia, and suddenly a woman stops on the side of the road. She takes out her Ukrainian passport out of her bag, opens it, shows it, and this crowd pounces on it - this frame simply blows the head. The whole film you seem to be on the American slides - the picture is completely fantastic in emotional influence, it is no coincidence that it is included in the student competition of the largest world documentary film festival in Amsterdam.

PS Festival "Artdokfest" will be held in Moscow and St. Petersburg December 8–16, 2015. Eight films from the competitive program will be shown in Riga on October 15–25 as part of the Riga International Film Festival.
