In the city of Pushkin (Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg) on September 25 and 26, 2015, the second Belyaevsky literary festival was held, dedicated to the annual presentation ceremony named after A. R. Belyaev (Belyaevsky Prize). On the first day, meetings with writers and laureates of the premium of past years were held in city libraries and cinema "Avangard". A demonstration of films made based on the works of Alexander Belyaev took place. The main event of the second day of the festival was the award ceremony itself, which was held in the Pushkin House of Culture with the support of the district administration.
The Belyaev Prize was founded in 1990 by a section of the scientific, artistic and science fiction literature of the Leningrad Organization of the Union of Writers of the USSR. It was awarded for achievements in the field of fantastic and scientific and artistic literature, and it was originally assumed to be handed over once every two years. By force of the genre orientation, it was called Belyaevskaya, since Alexander Romanovich Belyaev was the first domestic professional writer to work both in science fiction and in the field of popularization.
Soon, in 1992, the status of the prize was revised, and it turned into the annual, awarded on behalf of the literary charitable Belyaevsky Fund and the Union of Writers of St. Petersburg. In such quality, she lasted in 1997, and then, due to the liquidation of the Belyaevsky Fund, a four -year break occurred in her activity. In 2002, the newly created Organizing Committee of the Belyaevsky Prize secondly revised its status and refused to award it for science fiction, since there are more than enough different awards in this field of literature, while works of popular, popular and scientific and artistic literature are noted only by the Enlightener Prize (since 2008). Since 2014, the Belyaevsky Prize organization has been organizing the support and development of literature.
The Belyaeva Prize is honorary and, as a rule, does not have a monetary component. It consists of a breast medal and a diploma (for twice laureates - a desktop medal and a diploma; for three times laureates - a silver damage medal and a diploma).
