A workshop for producing Islamic State currency has been found in Turkey.

Turkish police discovered in the province of Gaziantep in the south of the country an underground workshop where the currency of the "Islamic State" was made (the organization was recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia and banned).

According to the Turkish edition of Todayʼs Zaman, citing a statement by the Gaziantep authorities, the police found coins and equipment for printing them. As a result of the operation, six people were arrested.

  • In August 2015, the "Islamic State" released a video in which it talked about the issuance of its own currency - the gold dinar. The terrorists reported that one gold dinar would cost US$139. With the help of the new currency, ISIS was going to fight against the "financial system of enslavement" that America had created.
