Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev believes that it would be fair to think about canceling the indexation of pensions for working pensioners, TASS reports.
At the same time, the head of government supported the possibility of additional indexation of pensions based on the results of the first half of 2016.
Such an idea sounded at a meeting of Medvedev with the leadership of United Russia. The head of the State Duma Committee Olga Batalina at the meeting said: “We consider it appropriate to reach the second indexation, which, presumably, can be carried out in the fall [2016].”
The Prime Minister also noted that there are no prerequisites to change the retirement age immediately.
