1925. Andrei Sinyavsky was born

90 years ago, on October 8, 1925, the writer and literary critic Andrei Donatovich Sinyavsky (pseudonym Abram Terz) was born. For publication in the West, together with Julius Daniel, his non -certificate works (“The Court is coming”, “Lyubimov”, “Voice from the choir”, “What is socialist realism?” And others), in February 1966, he was sentenced to 7 years in prison on charges of anti -Soviet agitation and propaganda. The trial of Sinyavsky and Daniel caused a protest campaign in the West and became the starting point of the human rights movement in the USSR.
