The Ministry of Culture intends to create its own power structure

The Ministry of Culture intends to create its own power structure to protect subordinate institutions. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to the draft government resolution prepared in the Ministry, which is published on the Public Discussion portal.

The initiative of the Ministry of Culture is due to the fact that a number of its largest institutions from November 1 are deprived of a significant number of police officers. By this time, 43.3 thousand employees of private security, including almost 1000 people who worked at the objects of the Ministry of Culture, that is, more than 40 percent of the police officers employed there, is supposed to be dismissed from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 162 police posts in the institutions of the Ministry of Culture will be abolished. Police and police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are advised to replace the private security company or departmental security by employees.

According to the publication in the Ministry of Culture, the issue of the formation of departmental security is worked out on behalf of the head of the Ministry of Vladimir Medinsky. At the same time, the officials noted, the creation of this structure "takes time, therefore, there is no talk of canceling the police security (at the remaining posts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in institutions. - Ed.) ."

Until now, non-departmental security worked in 46 out of 62 federal museums and museums-reserve, including the Hermitage and the Tretyakov Gallery, 13 of 15 archives and 4 of 8 libraries. Most of these institutions are included in the state set of particularly valuable cultural heritage.

Today, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Defense and the six industry ministries, as well as the special construction, Roscosmos, the Federal Agency for State Reserve, the Federal Agency of Railway Transport and Rosatom and Rostekhnology, have the right to support departmental protection.

At the end of August, the Ministry of Education and Science announced the desire to form its own power structure. It was claimed that the ministry intends to arm its guards with combat weapons and special equipment for "preventing and suppressing crimes and administrative offenses" in administrative buildings, as well as in international children's camps, including Artek, which is located in the annexed Crimea.
