Terror on the march

At least 86 people died as a result of two explosions that occurred on Saturday morning at the Main Station of Ankara. It is reported by Hürriyet Daily News with reference to the Minister of Health of Turkey Mehmet Muzzinoglu. 62 people died at the site of the incident, 24 died later in hospitals.

According to the publication, this is the largest single terrorist attack in the history of the country.

The total number of wounded is not given. It is only reported that 18 of them are performed operations, and another 28 are in intensive care rooms. It is also known that 9 police officers received light injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, pieces of human flesh are scattered throughout the territory at the exit from the station.

Explosions occurred on both sides of the exit when participants in the prepared march of the world gathered there. The procession was organized by the Democratic Party of Peoples, which defends the rights of national minorities of Turkey, in particular Kurdish, as well as trade unions and NGOs. It was supposed to express a protest against the conflict between the Turkish authorities and the militants of the Kurdish Workers' Party, which is outlawed outside the law, which operates in the southeast of the country.

The picture of the incident is not yet completely clear. According to some reports, a suicide bomber exploded. Why in this case we are talking about explosions on both sides of the exit from the building, the newspaper does not explain.

After the incident, the organizers canceled the march and called on the audience to donate blood for the victims.

The co -chair of the Democratic Party of the peoples of Selahattin Demirtash drew attention to the fact that the explosion resembles the other two recent terrorist attacks that occurred in southern Turkey - June 5 in Diyarbakyr and July 20 in Suruch .

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan canceled all the events planned in his schedule. Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced his intention on Saturday to discuss an incident at a meeting with the participation of leaders of law enforcement agencies, the capital's authorities and the Minister of Health Muzzinoglu.
