Dmitry Hvorostovsky was born on October 16, 1962. In 1985 he graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical School and the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts, worked as a soloist of the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater. Khvrostovsky gained worldwide fame in 1989 after the victory at the international competition of opera singers in Cardiff. Currently, the singer acts on the best world scenes, including in the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, in Covent Garden, and the Vienna State Opera.

In early summer, it became known about the serious illness of the singer - Hvorostovsky canceled all his concerts due to the diagnosed brain tumor . Soon the press said that doctors managed to normalize the patient's condition after chemotherapy.

After the illness, the singer again appeared on the stage at the end of September - he participated in three shows of the opera of Giuseppe Verdi Trubadur in the metro.

Last Sunday, Dmitry Hvorostovsky spoke at the closure of the Songs "New Wave", which was first held in Sochi. According to the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda , the singer pleased the audience with both solo execution and a duet with Aida Garifullina.
