Terrorist attacks and clashes

In recent days, a series of terrorist attacks occurred in Israel. According to security services, we are talking about a full -scale intifada. In two weeks, seven Israelis and 27 Palestinians were killed, including nine alleged attackers and eight children, reports Reuters.

On Tuesday, Palestinians, armed with knives and a gun, killed at least three people and wounded several as a result of attacks in Jerusalem and in the Tel Aviv region. Two Palestinians, with a different attack, shot and killed passengers on a bus in Jerusalem, killing two and injuring four, the police reported. One of the attackers was killed and the other was captured. Another Palestinian rammed a bus stop in the center of Jerusalem with a car, then climbed out and began to cut pedestrians, killing one and injuring six, the police said. According to law enforcement officers, the attacker was "neutralized".

Palestinian groups announced the "Day of anger." This is the worst wave of unrest in Israel and in Palestinian territories over many years. The Minister of Public Security of Israel is studying the possibility of blocking the Palestinian quarters in East Jerusalem, where many of the attackers live. Unlike Palestinians on the occupied West Coast, Palestinians in Eastern Jerusalem can arrive in Israel without restrictions.

Violence is explained by the dissatisfaction of Muslims in connection with the increase in visits by Jewish clergy and right-wing deputies of the Knesset of the Al-Aaksa mosque in Jerusalem, which is considered the third most important sanctuary of Islam outside the Arabian Peninsula. Palestinians believe that a visit to the mosque revered by Jews as the place of two destroyed biblical temples and the holy place of Judaism destroys Muslim religious control over this place.
