The police in Murmansk opened a criminal case against security companies that were responsible for the bridge across the Kola Bay. At the end of July, during the audit, it turned out that not a living guard was on duty at one of the posts, but a mannequin .

The criminal case was instituted under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (large -scale fraud), the identities of the suspects have not yet been established. As reported on the website of the Murmansk prosecutor’s office, “The audit showed that the unidentified person from the leadership of the Obrag LLC in the period from 03/01/2015 to 07/30/2015, in order to steal funds, gave the employees of the Choo“ Obrait ”to protect the bridge crossing by setting three posts, actually excluding the implementation of security No. 2”.

“At the same time, the unidentified person, from among the leadership of the Obragg LLC, issued an account for paying services for the protection of the bridge crossing through the Kola Bay, allegedly made by setting four posts, thereby deceiving the volume of actually performed services,” the prosecutor's office emphasized.

As a result of the fact that one of the posts guarded the mannequin, the budget was damaged by almost 321 thousand rubles, the department said. The state contract for the protection of the bridge was concluded with the organizations "Obrag" and "Murmanskavtodor" last year.

In the summer of this year, the prosecutor of the Oktyabrsky district of Murmansk Alexei Kruglin spoke about an “unusual violation” and suggested that a criminal case could be instituted. “This is a serious object that should be protected properly,” he said.

In the security enterprise, then an unpleasant incident was explained by a change in the deployment of posts for the summer period - a living employee was transferred to another zone, and so that the booth was not empty, they put a mannequin in a jacket and a hat.

The four -lane bridge over the Kola Bay is the world's longest automobile bridge behind the Arctic Circle. Its total length is about 2.5 kilometers, 1.6 kilometers in the surface. The bridge provides Murmansk’s automobile communications with the western regions of the region, as well as with the nearest foreign neighbors - Finland and Norway.

It is worth noting that in Russia mannequins can protect not only bridges, but also the border.
