Ukraine admitted the absence of a “Russian trace” in murders on the Maidan

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine does not have evidence of the involvement of the Russian authorities in the murders during the Euromaidan, the head of the department Viktor Shokin said to the Facts.

“If you remember, the ex-head of the SBU Valentin Nalivaichenko once stated that, they say, a Russian official was in Kyiv in the winter of 2014, gave the commands to securely shoot at the protesters. I asked Nalyvaichenko to provide us with at least some documents confirming this. There are still no them, ”he said.

Shokin emphasized that of those materials that GPU have, it is impossible to conclude about Moscow's involvement in shooting. “Not because we cannot or do not want to prove it, we just have no reason to talk about it today,” the prosecutor assured.

Nalivaichenko, being as head of the Security Service of Ukraine, claimed that he had data on involvement in the shooting of Russian assistant, Russian President Vladislav Surkov.

He referred to the data that the Alfa SBU received during interrogations of the employees of the special forces. The security forces allegedly “gave concrete certificates of the location of foreign sniper groups that aimed at the protesters ... and to employees of the Ministry of the Interior.”

During the clashes of protesters and security officials on the Maidan from the end of 2013 to 2014, more than 100 people were killed, most were shot from February 18 to 21.
