The attacks began to occur daily and spread throughout the country. Simple movement through the streets suddenly began to pose a mortal danger, because a person with a knife can appear anywhere and at any time.

The hardest day was October 13: three Israelis died in two terrorist attacks in Jerusalem, several more people were injured as a result of two attacks in Raanan. In total, 46 terrorist attacks were recorded in a day, in which three Israelis were killed and about 30 were injured. Among the victims of terrorists are both a 13-year-old teenager and a 70-year-old woman. Palestinians and residents of East Jerusalem lost 5 people, three of them were killed while trying to attack Jews.

Someday, historians will break spears, trying to determine the exact date of the beginning of the current Palestinian-Israeli exacerbation. There were no such problems with the second intifada: on September 28, 2000, Ariel Sharon went up to the temple mountain, the next day Yasir Arafat announced the cessation of any contacts with the Zionist enemy and gave the order to open fire ... Now it is more and more difficult. The new conflict has not yet leaders, no clearly formulated goals, or even the reference point. Some analysts say: the reason for the unrest was the arson of the house in the Palestinian Duma village in late July. Then, in the fire, one and a half year old Ali Davabshe died, his parents received severe burns and died in the Israeli hospital. On the walls of the burned house, inscriptions were found in Hebrew and, although they were never found arsonists, the settlers were accused of a crime. The slogan call to avenge the family Davabsha became very popular in the Palestinian autonomy, but these events did not affect the real statistics of terror. According to army and police reports, over the next two months - August and September - 10 attacks on the Israelis were recorded, 12 people were injured in varying severity, one of the militants was shot dead with return fire - ordinary numbers for these places. But on October 1, the situation has changed dramatically.

The soldiers blocked all the surrounding Palestinian villages, they did not introduce the commandant for an hour, but the local residents themselves tried not to appear on the street, to drive cars with autonomy numbers, it became simply dangerous. Settlers blocked all large intersections in the territories.

The protest was coordinated at the highest level. The blockade of the territories was also led by the leader of one of the world's largest Zionist organizations - the general director of the Beitar of Neria Meir: “We no longer intend to endure stones, bottles with incendiary mixture, and even more so shooting. Today's action is only the beginning. ” However, the readiness of the settlers “take the law into their own hands” led to the fact that the center of confrontation moved inside the green line*, Israeli Arabs joined Jihad.

After a bloody day, October 13, the number of terrorist attacks began to decline. Apparently, measures taken by the Israeli authorities worked: all entrances and exits to East Jerusalem are controlled by the police and border guards. Three companies of police special forces were transferred to the Israeli capital, at least 5 thousand reservists received the agenda about the urgent draft. However, the measures proposed by the Minister of Internal Security by Gidan Erdan turned out to be much more effective. The Military-Political Committee for Security approved a decree on the confiscation of terrorist property, the ban on restoring their destroyed houses, depriving the status of permanent residents of Israel, ordered not to give the bodies of the dead militants to relatives and bury them at a closed army training ground. The result was not long in coming: Friday, October 16, a day holy for Muslims, when the number of clashes, as a rule, increases sharply, this time passed quite calmly.

Until recently, everything that was happening in the territories was called "folk" intifada. The Israeli intelligence agencies got off their feet in search of the organizers, but each time it turned out that the decision to kill a Jew arose spontaneously after watching news or propaganda videos on the Internet. Professor of the University of Bar-Ilan, Schaul Bartal, a researcher of the Middle East, who gives military and police lectures about the history of Palestine, is sure: one of the main inspirers of the Third Intifada is the leader of the Islamic Israeli Israeli (Widi) Reda Salah, former mayor of the Arab city of UMM El-F Ahm in the north of Israel. Every year in September, Salah gathers in his city a “conference on the problem of the Al-Aqsa mosque” (on temple mountain.-NT), popular among the Palestinians, where he makes calls for violence to protect the Muslim shrine from Jews. Considering that recently the temple mountain is becoming an increasingly popular place of pilgrimage of the Jews, and the situation on it is increasingly inflated, it is possible that this year Red Salah’s words, constantly translated by the Palestinian media, fell on especially blessed ground.

But the leader of the Palestinian autonomy, Mahmud Abbas (Abu Mazen), who was considered the most restrained among Palestinian politicians, assigned responsibility for the explosion of violence to Israel, who is trying to change the status quo in Jerusalem and the temple mountain. It seems, however, that even the radical statements of Abbas do not affect moods among Palestinian youth, but rather reflect them. The Israeli radio recently asked Arab teenagers about their attitude to Abbas on the air - they asked who it was. Two days before breaking into the Jerusalem bus in a pistol in their hands and having time to shoot two passengers, 22-year-old Bach Alian, a schedule from the Jerusalem quarter Jabel Mukaber, wrote on his page on Facebook: “Let the Palestine leadership know that the end of the war with Israel is not in their hands, but in the hands of the people. Opposportunists and those who like to appear on TV will soon become marginals. ” And it’s true: they have been talking about the “third intifada” for a long time, all the last year.

East Jerusalem, from which the majority of the current terrorists with knives came, boils. The skirmishes of Arab youth with the police became more frequent. On the Palestinian sites and in the media, terror is mainly explained by revenge for the brothers who died in gas and anxiety for the fate of Al-Axa, "threatened by Jews." It is impossible not to pay attention to one more detail: the current wave of violence rose immediately after the very tone of the performances of Mahmud Abbas and the Israeli Prime Minister Bu Nyamin Nytanyahu in OO N. out, it is not difficult to find those who are responsible for the events of the last two weeks ...
