Discussion about xenophobia

October 22 at 19:00 Sakharov Center and the Information and Analytical Center "Sova" invite you to a panel discussion "Xenophobic and nationalist moods of Russians in 2015. Presentation and discussion of the research results of the Levada Center”.

The foreign policy agenda of the last two years, on the one hand, has practically ousted the topic of interethnic relations and migrant phobia from public discussion in Russia, on the other hand, the discourse of interethnic harmony, nation building, and the search for a “new” identity continues to function at the state level.

What do the Russians think about this? Have their ethnic attitudes and stereotypes changed “after Crimea”? What is the level of xenophobia among the population? Has the growth of patriotism affected the new Russian identity? Does ethnic nationalism have potential in today's political arena in Russia?
