Western countries urge the UN Security Council to punish Iran for a violation of the prohibition on the development of missile technology

The United States, France, Great Britain and Germany turned on Wednesday to the UN Security Council with a request to study the facts related to Iran by the test of a ballistic missile and take “appropriate measures”, as this test was carried out in violation of the regime of international sanctions imposed against Tehran.

The resolution, which contains the ban on Iran to carry out development related to the technologies of ballistic missiles, was adopted in 2010 and will remain valid for several years until the full implementation of a nuclear agreement, which was concluded with Iran by five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany. Nevertheless, Russia and China do not support sanctions against Iran for his missile developments, so the application of new penal measures over the last test is unlikely.

The United States, condemning the test of the Iranian rocket, at the same time emphasized that they do not linze the violation of the Iran of the resolution on missile technologies with a nuclear agreement.
