
Vimpelcom (operates under the Beeline brand) does not exclude the sale of 50 thousand towers in Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine and the CIS countries, Bloomberg reports with reference to its own sources.
The operator consults with UBS banks, Merrill Lynch and the Tap Advisors investment company. The company plans to make up for a lack of funds. Russian towers, according to the interlocutors of the agency, can be estimated at $ 5 billion.
Bloomberg sources note that the final decision on the sale of the operator’s towers has not yet been made. Representatives of the company and banks refused to comment on this situation.
Previously, the Italian “daughter” of the Wind Telecomunicazioni holding entered into an agreement with the Spanish ABERTIS Telecom Terrestre on the sale of 90% of Galata shares. The amount of the transaction amounted to € 693 million.
