The winner of the collecting program for young Russian art was announced

Evgeny Antufiev was the winner of the program for collecting the young Russian art of the VAC Foundation and the Museum of Modern Art of Antwerp. His work will be purchased by the VAC Foundation and transferred to the Museum Museum M HKA.

An annual program aimed at supporting and developing a new generation of Russian artists is held for the second time. The curators and institutions were invited to nominate artists whose work, in their opinion, could replenish the collection of the Museum of M HKA .

This year, MMSI, GTC, GTG, MMA, Garage and VAC formed a long-list of eight artists, then young curators-publishers of the Moscow Curatorial Summer School of different years formed a short list , which, in addition to Evgeny Antufiev, entered Yevgeny Branilshchikov, Ivan Tolmachev.

On October 21, an exhibition of four works of these artists took place in the MEL space in Moscow. The winner was announced by the jury, which included the director of M HKA and the curator Bart de Bar, the director of the Non -Profit Institution Salt and the curator Vasif Kortun and the director of the VAC Foundation Teresa Iarochci Mavika.

Evgeny Antufiev (b. 1986) studied at the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems ( ICA ), in 2009 won the Kandinsky Prize in the “Young Artist” category, repeatedly participated in exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
