Moldavian opposition mockery was detained after returning from Moscow

The Primar (mayor) of the Moldavian city of the Balti Renato Usaty, the leader of the opposition "of our party", was detained by special forces of the information and security service at Chisinau airport directly upon the return from Moscow. Politics detained in the case of the publication of telephone conversations of the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, ex-Prime Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat and businessman Ilan Shor. It was reported that the mustachioed published audio files on YouTube, immediately after which he announced this on his Facebook. On the air of Realitatea, he said that he received these files using a spy program, and explained to the publication by the desire to prove the connection between Filat and Shor.

After that, on October 20, the mustachioed left for Moscow. At departure, he explained the meaning of his trip to the desire to prepare for the upcoming detention. The same on the 20th, the Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case.

As the press secretary of the Prosecutor General Mary Vieru said, the oppositionist refused to testify during interrogation. After interrogation, he was detained 72 hours before the court as he was stopped. The mustachioed was placed in the pre -trial detention center of the National Corruption Center, where from October 15, Filat was and before his transfer to prison No. 13 in the capital of the country.

Politic lawyer Anna Ursaki called the forced drive of her client for interrogation, as well as sending him to the insulator, unjustified. “According to such an article, there can be no such severe sanctions,” the lawyer explained. “We filed a complaint to the prosecutor. If he does not free the mustachioed, we will go to court.”

At the same time, Ursaki argued that the case of the publication of Filat’s negotiations was opened under part 1 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of Moldova (violation of the secrets of correspondence), the sanction of which is a fine of up to 200 conditional units (4 thousand lei) or unpaid public work for a period of 120 to 180 hours. The imprisonment on this charges is not provided.

Meanwhile, Noi.md, having reported on Saturday in the afternoon that the mustachioed was charged, noted that his actions were qualified as a heavier crime - under paragraph "b" of part 2 of article 178 (violation of the secrets of correspondence using the means for unspoken receipt of information). For this crime, along with a fine and public work, a prison imprisonment is really provided for a period of up to three years or - as a separate punishment - a ban on the profession for the same period.
