The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for Moscow opened a criminal case against three police officers of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Central Administrative District of the Moscow Main Directorate for receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code).
As reported on the Investigative Committee’s website, a case has also been opened against a suspect of mediation in receiving a bribe (part 4 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code).
According to investigators, three police officers and their acquaintance, who became an intermediary, received two and a half million rubles from the owner of one of the karaoke clubs located on Sretensky Boulevard in the center of Moscow from June to October 2015. For this amount, the police promised not to bring the establishment to administrative responsibility, as well as general patronage.
The police and their acquaintance were detained. Soon they will be charged and a preventive measure will be chosen, the Investigative Committee reports.
