On September 29, the Supreme Court of the Chuvash Republic dismissed an appeal against the sentence imposed on activist Dmitry Semyonov for reposting a demotivator on VKontakte with an image of the ex-president of Russia. The verdict was left unchanged, Semenov himself announced this on Twitter .
On September 17, 2015, the Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary found Semyonov guilty for public calls for extremist activities (Part 1 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code), imposed a fine of 150,000 rubles on him, and granted amnesty, freeing him from the fine and removing his conviction.
Recall that the case of incitement to extremist activity against Semenov was initiated in January 2015 due to the fact that he reposted a message on social networks with a picture depicting Medvedev in a Caucasian hat with an inscription in Arabic script "Death to a Russian reptile" (according to -Russian). Earlier, for this picture and a number of others, he had already been sentenced to a fine in an administrative case.
