In Primorye, Lake Hanka came out of the shores. The authorities and scientists are trying to understand what is happening with the cross -border lake (it is partially in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang), and find a way out of the situation.
The first alarm signals appeared in early October. Due to the strong wind and a nickname wave from Hanka, the village of Novoselskoye, located on the eastern coast of the lake, turned out to be flooded with Hanka. I had to enter the emergency mode and proceed with the evacuation of residents. Further - more: to date, coastal campsis, nearby villages, and significant areas of farmland turned out to be flooded. The flood is threatened by the nursery to animals and birds living in the territory of the cross -border Hankai reserve.
The reasons for the abnormal behavior of the largest in the Far East are not completely clear.
- Hanka flooded the surrounding lowland, blurred the roads, at home, interrupted the message. Unfortunately, we did not conduct system observation of these processes. Therefore, we cannot accurately predict such events, ”says Academician Yuri Zhuravlev, director of the biological and soil department of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. - We need to get a maximum of information to offer an effective solution to the problem. It is necessary to obtain and process data, carry out modeling and only then give reasonable recommendations.
According to the assumption of Academician Zhuravlev, in the Hankai flood, which vividly reminded the flood on the Amur in 2013, China may be to blame:
- Hanka may be overwhelmed because on the Chinese side they changed the direction of the river Mulinha. If earlier she dumped her waters much north of the khanki - in the area of Dalnerechensk, now a significant part of the water is dumped into the Prokhankay valley, from there to a small hunk (a relatively small lake in Chinese territory ) , and from there - directly to the khanka. But no one at the moment knows the exact volumes of these discharges. We consider it necessary to create a cross -border commission and find out the contribution of each country to this catastrophic process.
Primorye Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky said that the scientists of the Far Eastern Rail office of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be entrusted with the necessary research.
“Since part of the lake belongs to our Chinese partners, I think this can be done jointly,” Miklushevsky believes. - It is necessary to conclude an intergovernmental agreement to solve the problems that Hanka and I now have.
One of the possible options for solving the problem may be the implementation of the second Sungach project proposed by scientists of the Far Eastern Railways (Sungach, or Sungach is the only river arising from Khanka - ed. ). It consists in laying an additional channel that would ensure the discharge of excess Hankei water in the north and restored the natural boundaries of the lake mirror.
