In Dnepropetrovsk, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the leader of the party "Ukrainian association of patriots - dill" Gennady Korban, a member of the party’s political council, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Boris Filatov. Party members are conducting searches.
“The Corban was detained before my eyes - without explanation and without any document. They came home and began to break the door. When I went and asked what was happening, they informed me that they were looking for a criminal who, according to them, was in this house. They hacked the door, grabbed the Corban on the threshold and took it out of no,” said Filatov.
“These are political repressions. Apparently, someone does not like the good result of dill in the local elections that we have shown, having entered 15 regional councils, 150 city councils, more than 200 district councils. Perhaps someone wants to put pressure on us before the second round,” the deputy said. “In Dnepropetrovsk there is a total training of the party,”,
At a joint briefing, representatives of the Prosecutor General and the SBU confirmed the detention of Korban. They noted that in the Dnipropetrovsk region an operation to eliminate an organized criminal group is being performed. Its members are accused of abductions of people. More than 500 security officials are involved in the operation.
One of the episodes of the criminal activity of organized crime groups is the theft of fund funds intended for the ATO fighters, said the SBU representative Elena Gitlyanskaya. "From this fund, which was directed for the soldiers at the front line, about 40 million hryvnias were stolen. And at the same time, these funds were then used to purchase expensive things, acquire cars. There is no policy," she said.
Corban was a candidate from dill in the elections of the mayor of Kyiv. He scored less than 3 percent of the vote and did not go to the second round, which will be held on November 15.
On October 25, elections to local authorities were held in Ukraine. The turnout of the voters amounted to 46.62 percent. The violation observers recorded by the civilian network were not massive and "do not give reason to question the results of the will of citizens at this stage of the electoral process." The mission of the Bureau for Democratic Institutes and Human Rights OSCE said that in general, the elections met democratic standards.
The Ugrop party was created in September last year. She positions herself as a right -center. "Our main task is to build a new state in Ukraine by completely dismantling the bureaucratic corruption system," the party’s website says.
The party is supported by the ex-governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Igor Kolomoisky , who was resigned by President Peter Poroshenko. Korban, his former deputy, confirmed this in August. "Dill is a party of patriots. And Kolomoisky is primarily a patriot of our country - unlike other major businessmen. And no one needs to prove it once again," Korban noted.
