2010. Victor Chernomyrdin died

Five years ago, on November 3, 2010, at the age of 77, Viktor Stepanovich Chernomyrdin, Prime Minister of Russia in 1992-1998, died.

In 2001-2009, he was a Russian ambassador to Ukraine.

Chernomyrdin was distinguished by a bright and peculiar speech. All his aphorisms as "never happened, and here again" or "they wanted it was better, but it turned out as always." But how Viktor Stepanovich commented on Ukraine’s intention to join NATO: “That's the fact that Ukraine wants this vector and so it does not understand it perpendicular to it, and they really understand them, and not everyone understands them. What exactly is to the West, and if there is a lot of good in the East, why not take good from here.”
