Residents of the New Urengoy (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) complain that district police officers come to them home and demand to write explanatory ones. The reason was a letter to Putin, in which they complained about a plight with housing. Some for many years simply do not have a permanent residence. For others, the courts do not recognize for the official document not only an order for an apartment that is currently not legal, but also a hiring agreement and decide on eviction without providing other housing.

People thrown out into the street and expecting evictions held rallies and pickets in the city. After rallies on September 27 and October 4, at the next attempt to file a notification, the administration began to obstruct them. “Either we did not put a comma, then they do not give permission to the procession. Each time there is some reason, ”says Rimma Zinatov, whose house was recognized as unsuitable for living and demolished more than three years ago. Nevertheless, residents managed to hold two more rallies - October 25 and 26. “At the last rallies, the police guarded us - didn’t let us move anywhere,” says Davud Davudov, who arrived in Novy Urengoy in 1985 in the Komsomol ticket and still did not receive an apartment (he claims that he was repeatedly deleted from lists to receive housing).

On October 23, a round table was held in the building of the city administration, where about 90 people had the same or similar problems. Residents of the New Urengoy went to Moscow and repeatedly sent letters to Putin, the last time - October 31; Before that, single pickets took place near the president’s reception. According to Jeanne Belik, who was one of the organizers of rallies in Novy Urengoy and posted a video with the complaints of residents on YouTube, the appeal was sent to Salekhard, the administrative center of the Yamalo -Nenets Autonomous Okrug from the presidential administration, and from there back to New Urengoy.

The houses around were burned, and her own house is threatened with a fire due to the fact that residents constantly turn on and turn off the heaters. Residents especially insults that the district police officers demand that they write precisely the explanatory: they believe that in this way they seem to be accused of a crime. According to Jeanne Belik, many for this reason refused to write anything.
