Sakharov Center invites students to a distance introductory person on human rights
The course is devoted to the theoretical foundations of human rights and practices of their protection. The course is designed for activists, journalists, lawyers and novice human rights activists, teachers and librarians, as well as for everyone who wants to know more about civil and human rights actions and is interested in the interaction of man and power.
What do you learn about during the curriculum:
- about what are and what human rights are and how to protect them in Russia today;
- on the values and legal standards underlying the international human rights system;
- On the history of the development of human rights and their support in the modern world.
The deadline for filing applications: November 15, 2015. Duration of the course: 5 weeks.
Where: on the distance learning platform of the Sakharov Center.
Course program:
- webinars with acting human rights activists,
- work with video materials,
- the study of recommended literature and presentations,
- participation in the discussions on the forum,
- Passing tests after each module,
- Fulfillment of the final creative task.

Graduates of the course will have the opportunity to take part in the full -time elements of the Great Educational Program in their region and Moscow: meetings with human rights activists, seminars, lectures, workshops and laboratories.
The course was developed by the International School of Human Rights and Civil actions, the Sakharov Center and the Youth Human Rights Movement.
The program is designed for participants from the Volga and Central Federal Districts (with the exception of Moscow).
