Rosaviatsia decided not to ban Boeing 737 flights

The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Alexander Neradko , said that there were no grounds for a ban on the flights of Boeing 737 airliners. He made such a statement after a meeting at which the decision of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) to withdraw the certificate from aircraft of this type was discussed.

According to Neradko , the head of the IAC, Tatyana Anodina, and the chairman of the IAC aviation register, Vladimir Bespalov, were invited to the Federal Air Transport Agency, but they did not attend the meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Rostransnadzor, Boeing and airlines that operate Boeing 737 aircraft.

Neradko said that the IAC sent a letter to the Federal Air Transport Agency, in which he asked that his decision to revoke the certificate be considered invalid. “Participants of the meeting noted the rather frivolous approach of the IAC to such an important issue. It seems that in the MAK itself there are different points of view on this issue, ” said the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

• On November 5, the IAC announced the revocation of the type certificate for Boeing 737 aircraft. The report of the committee said that such a decision was made due to the risk of malfunctions in the elevator control system.
• Boeing 737 aircraft are operated by many Russian airlines. In some of them, including UTair, they form the basis of the air fleet.
