In Germany, a universal sight for grenade launchers was developed

The German company Rheinmetall has developed a new universal sight for grenade launchers. The development is called the Vingmate MR 500. The sight can be installed on various types of grenade launchers, including reactive ones. The device is equipped with a fast mount and settings system, reports N+1 .

The Vingmate MR 500 setup for each type of weapon should be done manually. The sight is equipped with a thermal imaging system for searching for targets and can be used by both lefties and right -handedness. The mass of the device is 312 grams. The aiming brands in the Vingmate MR 500 can be configured.

The sighting software contains 32 ballistic shooting tables for different types of shots and can exchange data with a laser fast-removable Tac-Ray target designer. This device can highlight the targets at a range of up to two thousand meters and calculate the distance to them. Data from Tac-Ray can be used by MR 500 when aiming.

Rheinmetall plans to release regular updates of the sight software so that it can maintain new types of grenade launcher shots, including grenades with a large flight range, as well as programmable ammunition with an undermining of the enemy’s position.

Earlier, the US Army announced its intention to replace the sights on its m320 grenade launchers 40 mm caliber. In this regard, the German company announced the intention to offer the sights of the Vingmate MR 500 to the American military.
