Experts: Five -month -old Umarali Nazarov died of cytomegalovirus infection

The reason for the death of Umaral Nazarov, a five-month son of the Tajik migrants who died on October 14 in St. Petersburg, was a generalized viral (cytomegalovirus) infection complicated by the development of pulmonary heart failure. This was reported by the New Gazeta with reference to the conclusion of a forensic examination, which was appointed on October 15, the TFR, investigating the case of the death of the boy.

Cytomegalovirus infection leads to the defeat of all vital organs. The deceased child, as they say, was diagnosed with the following diseases: "pneumonia, liver dystrophy, pancreatic dystrophy, stomach damage, adrenal gland changes, chronic inflammation of the small intestine (enteritis), edema of the shells and brain tissue, and edema of the spinal cord." It is also noted that his heart was affected.

From this, the experts concluded that the boy was sick for a long time. They did not exclude that the child could become infected with the virus in the womb.

Doctors surveyed by the New Gazeta said that the cytomegalovirus infection is not amenable to visual diagnosis and a comprehensive examination is necessary to detect it.

The parents of the child, as well as their lawyer Olga Zeitlina, are not yet familiar with the results of the examination. Earlier, Zeitlina insisted on conducting an independent study. Now the boy’s parents find it difficult to answer whether they will agree with the conclusions of the examination.

On the morning of October 13, officials of the FMS appeared in the apartment that is rented by the Nazarov family. At home, except for the child and her mother, Zarina Yunusova, was the younger brother of her husband. All three were detained and taken to the city OP-1. At the same time, mothers were not allowed to dress Umarali Nazarov warmer.

In the child’s department, they were separated from the mother. As the head of the committee “Civic Assistance” Svetlana Gannushkin noted in her blog in the “Faces”, this was a direct violation of the current norms that prescribe that children should be kept with their parents. Yunusov was taken to court and, having held it all evening there, sentenced to a fine and expulsion from Russia. Meanwhile, her son was hospitalized and died that same night.

The death of Umarali Nazarov outraged the Tajik diaspora, and also caused a resonance in Russian society. On October 19, the children's Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov demanded that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General investigate the actions of the FMS and the police. The next day, the Investigative Committee opened the case under part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code (causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties), which provides up to three years of colony.

In response, the police on October 21 began a pre -investigation verification of the child’s parents for the presence of Article 156 of the Criminal Code in their actions (failure to fulfill the obligations to educate a minor), the sanction of which is also up to three years of colony. As far as is known, the check has not yet been completed.
