Composer Andrei Eshpai died

The famous Soviet and Russian composer, pianist and teacher Andrei Eshpay died in Moscow on Sunday at the 91st year of life, Interfax reported on Sunday in the Union of Composers of the Russian Federation. Eshpai died of the consequences of a stroke.

Andrei Eshpay - People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the Lenin Prize and the State Prize of the USSR, the Union of Composers of the USSR. He wrote music for more than 50 performances of drama theater and films.

Among the most famous songs: “And the snow is coming”, “You are alone in my fate”, “Song of the Motherland”, “Ah, Odessa My”, “Seryozha with Malaya Bronnaya”, etc. Among the films to which he wrote the music: “Adjutant of his Excellency”, “Major Watchman”, “Tactir on Pyatnitsky”, “Children of Vanyushin”, “Let's get married”. The author of more than 100 songs and romances. He wrote many symphonic works, music for three ballets, several operett.

Eshpai was born on May 15, 1925 in Kozmodemyansk in the family of composer Jacob Eshpai. In 1928, the family moved to Moscow. In 1941 he graduated from the school named after the Gnesins. In 1944 he went to the front, reached Berlin. He was awarded orders and medals. In 1953 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory.
