Katerina Tikhonova, the youngest daughter of Vladimir Putin, and her husband own assets worth about $ 2 billion. This is stated in the investigation of Reuters.
The 29-year-old Tikhonova previously called Kirill Shamalov as her husband. His father is Nikolai Shamalov, Putin's old friend, co -founder of the Lake Cooperative and the shareholder of the Russian Bank.
Ownership of $ 2 billion belonging to Tikhonova and her husband is mainly the shares of the Sibur holding. Their Shamalov Jr. acquired from another old friend Putin - the oligarch Gennady Timchenko.
At the same Timchenko, Tikhonova’s husband bought a villa in the French city of Biarrice on the shores of the Bay of Biscay. The cost of this villa is estimated at about 3.7 million dollars.
In January 2015, it was reported that Tikhonova plays a key role in the multimillion -dollar project of expansion of Moscow State University. According to Reuters, in March she was appointed assistant vice -rector of the university. Nevertheless, it is not known whether she receives a salary in this post. The list of employees of Moscow State University does not have the name of Tikhonova, but it is mentioned as a member of the scientific council of the university.
The agency also recalls that, as follows from open sources, the career of the eldest daughter of the Russian leader, Maria Putin, is also associated with Moscow State University. Maria Putin graduated from the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine at this university and is engaged in endocrinology.
Both Putin’s daughters and Shamalov Jr. refused any comments, Reuters notes.
Meanwhile, the agency continues, the chairman of the Board of Gazprombank Andrei Akimov confirmed that Tikhonova is indeed the youngest daughter of Putin. Akimov explained that he knew her since childhood and recently also communicated with her.
Forbes, however, reports with reference to the press service of Gazprombank that Akimov did not make such statements. "Akimov was very surprised that the journalists of such a solid publication allowed not just distortion of what was said, but a direct fraud," the press service said. Neither Akimov nor anyone else in Gazprombank "have information about the family ties of Ms. Tikhonova," the answer to the Forbes request said.
The fact that Tikhonova is Putin’s daughter was the first to say at the end of January journalist Oleg Kashin . Then the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov did not confirm this information and did not refute. About Tikhonova Kashin reported that she is the director of Innopractika and Vice President of the World Confederation of Acrobatic Rock-N Rall.
RBC wrote about the key role of Tikhonova in the project of expansion of Moscow University on the same days. It was reported that "Innopractics" is a joint project of the National Intellectual Development Foundation and the unit of Moscow State University - the Center for the National Intellectual Reserve. In 2013-2014, he received a number of expensive contracts from Rosatom and the subsidiaries of Transneft.
