In Crimea, the arrest of Akhtem Chiygoz and two more accused in the "case on February 26" was extended

The Kiev District Court of Simferopol extended until January 29 to arrest the Deputy Chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz, reports Crimea. Realia. Until February 19, the term of detention of the Crimean Tatar activists Ali Asanov and Mustafa DegerMadzhi was extended. All of them are accused in the "case of February 26".

At a court session, lawyers said there was no reason to keep Chiygoz in custody. Before the detention, he repeatedly traveled abroad, but always returned. Chiygoz was not going to leave the Crimea and hide from the investigation. At the same time, a child born in 2002 and elderly parents are on his dependent.

"In Crimea, there is a large terror of my compatriots. There is no need to talk about justice. My business is Fars, there is no reason to keep me in custody, this is a custom -made political case," Chiygoz himself said.

However, judge Viktor Mozheleansky decided to satisfy the petition of the Russian prosecutor's office of Crimea and leave Chiygoz in custody.

Akhtem Chiygoz thanked the currently supporting people and kissed the veteran of the Crimean Tatar National Movement of the Vedges Kashka. Leaving the courtroom, he exclaimed: "Millet, Vatan, Majlis!" (Nation, homeland, Majlis).

The lawyers of Chiygoz, Asanov and DegerMadzhi have already stated that they intend to appeal the court decision.

The “case on February 26” was initiated by the Crimea of ​​the Crimea Verkhovna Rada between the rallies organized on February 26, 2014, respectively, supporters and opponents of Euromaidan. All defendants in the case are Crimean Tatars, participants in the rally in support of the Euromaidan.

In the “February 26 case,” seven defendants, but four of them at different times were released from pre -trial detention center for guarantee. All, except for Chiygoz, was charged with part 2 of Article 212 of the Russian Criminal Code (participation in the riots), which provides from 3 to 8 years of the colony. Chiygoz is accused of part 1 of the same article (organization of riots), and he faces from 8 to 15 years.

On October 12, the judge of the Central District Court of Simferopol Yuri Gulevich sentenced the first sentence in the “February 26 case” - regarding the former operator of the Crimean Tatar television channel of the ATR, the escorter Nebieva. This defendant fully pleaded guilty and made a deal with the prosecutor’s office, and therefore the materials were allocated in a separate production in his regard.

Nebiev received two and a half years conditionally with a two -year trial period. According to the official media, the journalist testified not only against himself, but also against Chiygoz. However, the lawyer of the convicted person Jamil Temyshev denied this information, saying that his client did not stipulate Chiygoz. The leaders of the Mejlis also previously noted that they were not inclined to suspect Nebiev of a reservation.
