
The authorities of Tunisia prevented a large terrorist attack. As Interfax reports , this was reported in the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“This month we prevented a large -scale attack that terrorists were preparing to make against vital objects, hotels, security centers and officials to sow chaos in the country,” said Rafik Shelley, director of the Department of Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to him, Tunisia’s security services managed to reveal the cell of extremists, which included 17 people. So the authorities became aware of the impending terrorist attack.
In 2015, as a result of attacks of terrorists, which occurred with a difference of three months, 59 tourists relaxing in Tunisia were killed. 38 people, including a Russian woman, became victims of shelling at the Imperial Marhaba Hotel in Susa on June 26. Another 39 tourists were injured then. On March 18, the militants of the Islamic State attacked visitors to the Bardo Museum. As a result, 21 tourists died, among which there was also a native of Russia.
