State Duma deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin and Vladimir Rodin and social activists signed a memorandum on creating a coalition to fight for the resignation of Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov and the cancellation of the expansion of the paid parking zone beyond the Boulevard Ring, Interfax reports. It is noted that the memorandum was also signed by the head of the communist faction in the Moscow City Duma Andrei Klychkov, the coordinator of the social movement “Blue Bucket Society” Pyotr Shkumatov, the head of the public movement “Motorists of Moscow” Leonid Antonov, and several municipal deputies. During the week of work, out of 1.5 thousand deputies of local government bodies, 121 deputies signed up, covering 70 districts of Old Moscow, said deputy Valery Rashkin.

Previously, the Supreme Court recognized the legality of the introduction of paid parking in Moscow. Residents of the capital appealed to the court: in their opinion, parking lots should be structurally separated from the streets, and fees for their use should be fixed in the Tax Code. The Moscow government rejected the claims: it is not necessary to separate parking lots; they can be introduced using signs and markings alone. The fee for storing a car, in turn, is not considered a tax fee, because it is not necessary to park cars in city parking lots.
