On November 19, police officers detained several participants of the All-Russian protest action of truck drivers in the city of Engels, Saratov Region
It is reported by " Interfax-Povolzhye " with reference to the secretary of the Saratov city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation for work with youth Nikolai Bondarenko.
According to Bondarenko, the action organized by the drivers themselves began in Engels in the morning. It was attended by drivers of more than 70 heavy vehicles and a number of cars.
“During the action, police officers began to seize documents from drivers, about eight people were detained allegedly in connection with complaints received and taken to the police department,” Bondarenko told the publication.
The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Saratov Region told the agency that "the drivers were stopped to prevent violations of administrative law." The protesters allegedly were not detained, but "they are being talked about preventing violations of traffic rules." Later, all the protesters were released.
The all-Russian protest action of truck drivers is taking place today in many regions of the country, drivers are protesting against the collection of tolls on federal highways for trucks weighing more than 12 tons, truckers are also outraged by the failures of the Platon payment system, to which Rosavtodor obliged them to connect under the threat of a fine.
According to Smolenskaya Narodnaya Gazeta , one person, one of the organizers of the event, was detained at the action of truckers in the Smolensk region, which took place on the highway in the direction of Bryansk.
