According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Jan Zhambon, in the list of those wanted, there are persons whom Belgian intelligence agencies suspect of preparing new attacks. All of them are armed and very dangerous.

The Belgian authorities recommended residents of the city not to visit the places of crowds, including shopping complexes, concert halls, stations and airports. It was also decided to cancel all major events and football matches.

The Minister of Justice of Belgium Kun Gens said that on Monday the metro would most likely be open. According to Hens, the stations will be guarded. “We are not going to economically paralyze either Brussels or the whole country,” the minister noted. “We needed time to organize everything. In the evening a new assessment of the security threat of the Belgian body of the coordination of threat analysis (OCAM) is expected. On its basis, the authorities will make decisions.

On Saturday , the highest level of terrorist threat, the fourth on the national scale, was declared in Brussels. The decision was made following a meeting of the joint meeting of officials of justice, police and intelligence. In the rest of the country, the third level of danger has been declared.

The largest stores worked on Saturday morning, but around noon many of them began to close. Museums, as well as a number of cinemas and sports centers were also closed by orders of the district authorities of Brussels. Clubs and other sites canceled the appointed events and closed earlier than usual.

Until now, the highest level of terrorist threat has been declared only twice in Brussels. The first time this happened in 2007, when the terrorists tried to arrange the escape of the arrested fighter of al-Qaeda Nizar Trabelxi. The second time, such measures were taken in May 2014, after a terrorist attack by the Jewish Museum .

On the evening of November 13, a series of six terrorist attacks was committed in Paris. 130 people became victims of Islamists. About 350 more were injured, and about 100 injured were severe.
