The supply of electricity to the Crimea from the continental part of Ukraine is completely discontinued after the two supports of the power lines are undermined. The Russian authorities introduced an emergency regime on the annexed peninsula, TASS reports .
The two supports of the line supplying the peninsula were undermined in the Kherson region about 1:20 Moscow time. After that, electricity completely turned off in Crimea. At night, the power supply was partially restored due to local generating capacities.
“We have almost all cities connected. In those regions where we have difficulties with electricity supplies, powerful energy sources will be sent,” said Mikhail Sheremet, first deputy prime minister of the Russian Government of Crimea, who headed the headquarters for the liquidation of emergencies. At the same time, due to a lack of capacities, graphs of turning off electricity and water for the population are introduced.
Own sources can ensure the production of 350 megavatts. At the same time, the morning peak of consumption on the peninsula is 800 megavatts, and in winter it increases to 1-1.2 thousand megavatts.
According to Sheremet, fuel reserves for reserve sources of power supply in Crimea will be enough for at least 30 days. “There is a supply of fuel. Of course, we understand that in some part we depend on the weather and the crossing. But nevertheless, we can work calmly for 30 days,” he said.
The emergency regime will last until the peninsula is completely restored.
The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine said that along with the Crimea, two districts of the Kherson region were de -energized, as well as "a danger to supply 40 percent of consumers of the Kherson and Nikolaev regions." The department notes that "with unhindered and safe access of repair personnel", the work of one of the four damaged lines can be restored within a day.
On the night of November 20, as a result of the undermining of the supports , two of the four power lines supplying Crimea were disabled . These are the lines of Melitopol - Dzhanka and Kakhovka - Titan. According to preliminary data, the structures were undermined by anti -tank mines. The supports of the other two power lines (these are the lines of Kakhovka - Ostrovskaya and Kakhovka - Dzhanka) received serious damage.
This noted by Ukrenergo, not only leads to a complete disconnection of Crimea from the Ukrainian power grid, but also significantly reduce the reliability of the energy supply of the Kherson and Nikolaev regions, and the Chaplinsky and Kalanchak districts of the Kherson region, eating from the Crimean substation, will completely discontinate.

The head of the civilian blockade headquarters Lenur Islyamov, for his part, at the same time stated that the blockade participants intend to disrupt the repair of all four power lines. “Crimean Tatar activists, Avardan, Aydar and Right Sector battalion will take part in this,” he noted.
The blockade coordinator found it difficult to answer who could make the explosions. “Anyone could do this,” he said. “This could be done by saboteurs who came from Crimea, or saboteurs who are here, or this could do the patriots of Ukraine.” At the same time, the chief of staff assured that the blockade activists have nothing to do with explosions.
On Saturday, at the site of the collapse of the electric spell in the chaplink of the Kherson region , clashes occurred between the security forces and participants in the civil blockade of Crimea, which prevent the repair of power lines. The security forces beat activists, including women, and machine guns. Among the participants in the blockade there are victims. In particular, the Julsum Khalilova journalist Gulsum Khalilova, the journalist of ATR, was beaten by the blows of the butt in the stomach in the performance of his professional duties.
After the negotiations, the security forces removed the cordon near the electric support, and the blockade participants made it possible for employees of Ukrenergo to carry out grounding.

The leaders of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people who organized the food blockade of Crimea, as well as the direct participants in the action, have long insisted on terminating the supply of electricity to the peninsula. On October 6, Dzhemilev stated that the issue of energy unit will be resolved before the end of the same month . However, this did not happen. Since then, several undermining were made on the lines going to the Crimea. Demonstrative actions were also held when mines or TNT checkers were laid at the supports in a prominent place and did not explode.
