During a special operation near Nalchik, 11 militants were killed. As stated in the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, they all swore allegiance to the "Islamic State" (the organization is banned in Russia).
The counter-terrorist operation has been taking place near Nalchik since early morning. Law enforcement agencies found a dugout with militants in the Cherek municipal district. A shootout ensued with them.
There are no reports of casualties among law enforcement agencies. It is also not known whether any live fighters remained in the dugout. Initially, the NAC reported five militants killed, then 10.
The area where the bandits were discovered was blocked by the special forces of the FSB and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
