At the crash site of Kogalymavia, Egypt, Sinai Peninsula, November 1, 2015
For the version about the mechanical damage that provoked the destruction of the aircraft, the Russian authorities all these two weeks clung very persistently, although the Western special services made all the necessary conclusions in early November. The plane crashed on October 31, and already on November 5, British Prime Minister David Cameron called Putin and informed him of British intelligence data: the airbus was most likely blown up. As an answer, according to the press service of the clock, the Council sounded to wait for the results of an “official investigation”. And the chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev confidently stated on the same day: there is no reason to link the catastrophe in the sky over the Sinai with the response of jihadists to Russian actions in Syria. At the same time, London’s decision to stop flying to Egypt Kosachev wrote off the eternal desire of Britain to provide geopolitical opposition to Russia.
But the facts are a stubborn thing. And now, the president, playing with jacks, is closed from the TV screen: we will find out all by name, we will find at any point in the planet and punish, and so on in the spirit of "Neblying Prove".
Honestly, it was not believed that the head of our state would ever recognize the death of the aircraft with 224 passengers aboard a terrorist attack. Just because saying “A”, I must say “B”-because of what, for what such reason the terrorists needed to blow up the Russian liner. Instead of “b” we heard a maxim of the fact that “Russia is not the first time faced with barbaric terrorist crimes, most often without any apparent reason, external or internal ...” Therefore, it is appropriate to recall: the airbus was blown up by terrorists exactly a month later, after Russia intervened in the war in Syria, starting to bomb the positions of the forces opposing the army of Bashar Assad, Including the organization "Islamic State" * .
The president, who, at the stage of growing up, who passed, as he recalled us, street universities, in which they taught to beat first, if the fight was inevitable, exactly acted: he struck the first, and this was his personal decision (or does someone really believe that such issues are resolved collegial?). But, having struck, he hid behind the wide backs of the FSO officers, over the armored glasses of his limousine, for the innumerable perimeters of the protection of Novo-Ogarev or Bocharov stream. The answer from Syria fell on people who did not decide anything, did not study on Leningrad streets and were not going to beat anyone at all.
Answer if you vote
Such a development of events - NT already wrote about this (see the New Times No. 37 of November 9, 2015) - was expected. Terrorism is not an independent universal evil, but just a method of struggle. And as any struggle, it is very rational and subordinate to a certain logic. Modern forms of terrorism take into account the enemy’s political organization primarily. Today we live in the era of democratically organized states - at least formally. Therefore, again, according to the formal principle, the population is responsible for the acts of power, since it votes for it.

In March 2004, on the eve of the parliamentary elections in Spain, a series of explosions thundered in Madrid electric trains. In scale, those terrorist attacks were even larger than the current Parisian ones - almost 200 people were killed, more than two thousand were injured. The first suspicion that the bombers-members of the Basque separatist organization, was not confirmed, as it turned out, a group associated with al-Qaeda was behind explosions * . And a month later, in April, the Spanish government announced the withdrawal of the Spanish military contingent from Iraq. There were no more terrorist attacks in Spain.

This is not cowardice. This is an understanding of the Spanish authorities that good relations with the United States and Britain, which have put on the international coalition for the sake of overthrowing Saddam Hussein, do not stand the lives of hundreds of Spaniards.
In Russia, it is considered almost a state crime to deal with the motivation of terrorists. The line between the understanding of the logic of terror and its justification is erased. Meanwhile, the same logic as in Spain was guided by the organizers of the attacks in the Moscow metro in 2010. Behind those explosions stood the Dagestan field commander Magomedali Vagabov. Now the deceased editor -in -chief of the Makhachkala newspaper Chernivik Hadzhimurad Kamalov, through an intermediary, asked the militant: “Why blow up ordinary people?” And he received the answer: “I don’t have the strength to separate from Russia, but I have the strength to force Russia to want to separate from us.” According to the same logic, the leader of the “Imrat Caucasus”* Doku Umarov also acted in 2012, imposing a ban on terrorist attacks against the population against the backdrop of “swamp” protests (while he separately stipulated that the ban does not apply to employees of law enforcement agencies).
Vladimir Putin - About disaster in Sinai
October 31, the crash of Kogalymavia. According to the Kremlin press service, Putin expressed condolences to the families of the dead, instructed to create a special commission and send the Russian Air Force to the scene. The Russian president did not make a public statement.
November 2. At a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Transport Sokolov, the president calls what happened a “huge tragedy” and personally expresses condolences. He does not say anything about the reasons for what happened.
November 5. In a conversation with British Prime Minister Cameron, who shares data on the possible explosion of a bomb on board, Putin advises to wait for the results of an official investigation.
November 16. During the G20 summit, Putin says: “If there was an explosion, then traces of explosive should remain on the shelter of the liner, this should be inevitable.”
November 16. At a meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, Putin says that the special services are at the final stage of the investigation of the causes of the tragedy.
November 16. The head of the FSB Alexei Bortnikov calls the cause of the tragedy an explosion on board. Putin sharply changes the tone, promises to find the organizers of the attack “anywhere in the planet”: “We must do this without a statute of limitations, know them (terrorists. - NT) by name.”
Our mind is a matter
In Russia, by default, the population has the right to vote only when it comes to domestic politics. Another thing is external. A simple person does not seem to poke his nose in such high matter. For the past and a half years, the consequences of foreign policy steps on the population have not been affected. However, in 2014, everything changed. It turned out that the authorities are convinced that all Russians should share responsibility with them for radical decisions, which they, in fact, did not make. “You rejoiced that“ Crimean ”, which means that they should endure all the hardships associated with the sanctions imposed on us,” Alexander Tkachev said something like this with childish naivety at the time, when he was still the governor of the Krasnodar Territory. Around the same spirit, Prime Minister Medvedev once spoke out at one of the government meetings.
Suppose most of the Russians really rejoiced at the Crimean Anschlus. But then the majority was at least clear why it suddenly became poorer. But today the answer to the question "for what?" It is somehow not at all obvious. Are we ready to explode in airplanes in order to preserve the power of Bashar al -Assad; Either for the help of the Syrian people (who actually rebelled against this Assad itself), or for the sake of a place worthy of Russia in the world; Either in order to ensure that the radical Islamists do not come to us, although in reality they did not rush to us, but, on the contrary, went there from here; Either in order to find a common language with the West, the relationship with which we ourselves spoiled the “Crimean”.
The lesson for the population of Russia after an explosion in the Egyptian sky should be understanding: now it is concerned not only to pensions, medicine, education and other social.
By and large, we got into Syria for one single reason: the head of state did not feel the proper respect for himself abroad, while believing in the formula “afraid, it means they respect” and having the habit of hitting the first. In addition, he sincerely believed the choir of flatterers who convinced everyone and him, including that Russia is Putin.

During the farewell ceremony with A321 crash victims, St. Petersburg, November 5, 2015
The lesson for the population of Russia after an explosion in the Egyptian sky should be understanding: now it is concerned not only to pensions, medicine, education and other social. Now, to the same extent, our mind is a matter of foreign policy. We are concerned about all wars, all counter -terrorism operations, all adventures that we fit into. As for the “righteous revenge” and the presidential promises to find and punish “everyone by name” and “anywhere in the planet” (once he immediately remembered his words about fifteen years ago about the toilets), he, of course, can do this, all the more, having an example of Israeli special services before the attack in Munich in 1972 ** . But only it will not be better for us from this.
* “Imrat Caucasus”, “Islamic State” (IG), “Al-Qaeda”-terrorist organizations prohibited in Russia.
** As a result of the attack in Munich in 1972, held by the Palestinian group "Black September", 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team were killed. After that, the Israeli intelligence agencies for many years conducted an operation to eliminate all those involved in the terrorist attack, tracking them throughout the globe.
