The activists who organized the blockade of Crimea will allow electricians to power lines only after cutting the wires through which electricity is supplied to the peninsula. This was stated by the acting head of Ukrenergo Vsevolod Kovalchuk, reports . 112 Ukraine
“A mandatory requirement in order to allow us to restore the lines, on the part of these representatives, is a guaranteed non-delivery of electricity to the Crimea, to the solution of a number of political issues that they put forward as part of their action,” Kovalchuk said.
According to him, the blockade participants demand to cut the wires on four Kherson power lines, after which the activists will allow the repairmen to restore the power line. Kovalchuk noted that the project to disconnect power lines is ready and will be discussed with the minister and law enforcement agencies.
Earlier today, Lenur Islyamov, commander of the "Public blockade of Crimea" headquarters , said that the admission of electricians to the damaged electrical poles is possible only after the police release the activists of the movement who tried to prevent the repair of the lines.
Recall that on Sunday night, Crimea and Sevastopol were completely de-energized due to the explosion of two power lines in the Kherson region of Ukraine. Officials admitted that Crimea would not have enough of its own capacity to fully restore power supply, and in the worst case scenario, this would take about a month.
In connection with the incident, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia is ready to speed up the launch of an energy bridge across the Kerch Strait, which will allow the peninsula to refuse electricity supplies from Ukraine.
