
On December 7 and 8, the VIII music festival “Mstislav Rostropovich” will be held at the Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. This year he will be dedicated to the work of Sergei Rachmaninov, the program includes three symphonies and three piano concerts of the composer.
The festival will take part in the symphony orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater under the direction of Valery Gergiev, as well as the laureates of the XIII and XV international competitions named after P.I. Tchaikovsky - pianists Miroslav Kultyshev and Daniil Kharitonov.
On the first day of the festival, December 7 , the first symphony and the second concert for the piano with the Rachmaninov Orchestra will be heard. The soloist is Miroslav Kultyshev.
In the program concert program December 8, the second symphony and Rachmaninov Symphonic Dancing. The third symphony, the first and third piano concerts of Rachmaninov, will be performed in the evening. The first concert will be performed by Daniil Kharitonov, the third will be played by Miroslav Kultyshev.
One of the concerts, according to tradition, will be charitable, children and students, veterans and pensioners, students and teachers of musical institutions of the region are invited to him.
The music festival "Mstislav Rostropovich" was organized at the initiative of Valery Gergiev and the Government of the Samara Region in 2008.
