We show the film "Donetsk Airport" in the program "Empire. Decay ".
I personally am absolutely sure that the empire did not break up with the announcement of Gorbachev about its resignation, not with the descent of the Soviet flag over the Kremlin, and even more not from the signing of Bialowieza agreements. Empires do not collapse on one day, they are not created on the same day. The empire is a much more complex design than documents and even border posts. Actually, we now live in one of the active phases of the crash of the empire - clearly not the last. The Chechen war was the collapse of the empire, the processes taking place in Tajikistan and Georgia, too. And the film "Donetsk Airport" is one of the most terrible evidence of this crash: people who are quite difficult to distinguish from each other are involved in the cycle of meaningless cruel massacre.
The film "Donetsk Airport" tells in a certain chronological order about the battles for the Donetsk airport, which went in 2014. Events comment on the participants in the battles on both sides. So, if you remove the credits sharing the separatists and fighters of the Ukrainian army, it is not easy to figure out who is who - because almost everyone speaks Russian. Because of this, it would be born of a fever of horror, I personally have a sweat converted into drops, flowing down my back during viewing.
I would say that the Donetsk Airport is one of the most emotionally strong paintings of this year.
