"Blow in the back" is a potent expression. In relation to the Russian bomber attacked and destroyed by the Turkish Air Force, it carries a double meaning. Figure: The one whom we considered a friend treacherously attacked us, trustingly that he had a back to him. And literal: as Konstantin Murakhin, who survived the Su -24 navigator, told , the blow was inflicted in a unlucky, without warning, in a foreign territory - the fighter went into the tail of a friendly aircraft.
And immediately it turned out that Türkiye was not a friend to us. We have long known about her treachery, but from the last forces we were silent in the name of the holy goal - the fight against terrorism.
Involved in the civil war in Syria, Moscow, apparently, did not realize that not two sides are fighting there, not three or even ten. Many armed formations of those who are called rebels or moderate opposition in the West are at enmity, enter into temporary unions and are essentially not controlled by anyone. These are, in particular, the Syrian Turkmen detachments, over whose territory there was a fatal incident.
Turkmens have been living on Syrian land for ten centuries. This is the third largest people in the country after Arabs and Kurds. However, the Syrian authorities suppressed their ethnic and cultural identity, pursued a policy of strict assimilation, and considered them the fifth column of Turkey. At first, the Turkmen tried to maintain neutrality in the war. When ISIS came to their villages, they tried not to quarrel with him. But Igilovites were even less interested in the national identity of new subjects. Caliphate should reign in the Caliphate, so ISIS replaced local school teachers and imams so that they would not preach all heresy. Igilov thugs began to take Turkmen girls in their wife, or even simply raping them.
From the territory of the Islamic State, the outcome of the Turkmen began. They moved to the Turkish border, because the Turks consider them a related people and Ankara - their only intercessor in the world of great politics. Old people, women and children were located in refugee camps. The men took up the weapon. The Syrian Turkmens were under a triple threat: against them Kurds, Assad, ISIS.
They joined the Syrian Free Army, which is an "umbrella" for motley detachments united by a common hatred of Assad's regime. In Turkey, a governing body was established in exile - the Assembly of the Syrian Turkmen. She entered the national coalition of the Syrian revolutionary and opposition forces, created in November 2012 at the constituent conference in Doha. The Turkmen has 4 places out of 60 in the coalition council. This is a legitimate participant in the Syrian political process.
Among the Turkmen detachments there are allies and the “Ang Nusra Front”-the al-Qaeda branches in Syria and Lebanon, and the Islamist “Ahrar Ashham Brigade”, and Kurdish folk self-defense detachments. There are probably just a gangster freemen. But this applies not only to the Turkmen. This is the reality of the Syrian war.
The national coalition, too, alas, tear out interfraction contradictions. Moscow never recognized it as a legal representative of the Syrian people. She refused to deal with the Syrian free army for a long time. On October 5, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the SSA "phantom structure", but nevertheless expressed his readiness to establish contacts with it if they tell him what it is:
If this is truly preserving their legal capacity, an armed group of a patriotic opposition consisting of Syrians, then we are ready to establish contacts with it and do not hide it.
The operation of the Russian VKS in Syria at that moment was already in full swing, and Russia was accused of not bombing at Assada, not those who were needed.
On October 23, at a four -sided meeting in Vienna (USA - Russia - Saudi Arabia - Türkiye), the parties unsuccessfully tried to coordinate the list of terrorist organizations operating in Syria. On the eve of the Viennese negotiations, Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is ready to support the operation of the Air SSA, "although we are refused to provide information about where the terrorists are, where there are patriotic oppositions."
However, the SSA categorically abandoned such a generous sentence. Russia, its representative said, "cannot cooperate with the rebels and at the same time maintain the regime of Bashar Assad. Russian aviation must first stop the bombing of our positions."
Reasonable answer. From the very beginning, Russia was convinced to enter the Antihilov coalition. But she chose to enter the war as an ally of Assad, persistently emphasizing that she did this at the request of the legitimate president of Syria. Under such conditions, it is difficult to expect that Assad’s opponents will share their plans and information about their deployment with her.
Moreover, back in April, Vladimir Putin claimed :
For us, of course, there is no direct threat from ISIS.
But in September, it suddenly turned out that "the so -called" Islamic state "has long declared our country its enemy."
The Western coalition was entitled to doubt that the fight against ISIS was the true goal of Russia, not a sign.
Returning to Turkmens, the sequence of events should be restored. On November 15-16, Syrian government troops, with the support of Russian aviation, launched an offensive in the resettlement of the Turkmen in the north of Latakia Province. On this occasion on November 19, the Russian ambassador to Ankara Andrei Karlov was invited to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, where he was told that the bombing of peaceful villages is not a fight against terrorism, that Turkey demands to immediately stop the operations against the Turkmen and that the continuation of such actions will entail serious consequences.
The Russian Embassy confirmed the fact of calling the ambassador, but refused to disclose the contents of the conversation. The RIA Novosti dispatch says that "Karlov was declared a protest in connection with the alleged strike of the Russian Air Force on the settlement of Bayyrbujak, where Syrian Turkmen live." (In fact, Bayyrbujak is the Turkish name for the area where the Syrian Turkmens are resettled.) Ankara did not calm down on this and demanded that the UN Security Council convene on this issue.
The meeting was not convened. The bombing did not stop. Türkiye decided to further act at its own discretion.
On October 3, there was already a similar case of violation of the border. F-16 fighters were raised to intercept the Russian aircraft. Then, too, the Turkish Foreign Ministry called the Russian ambassador and told him a decisive protest. Moscow recognized the fact of violation.
The Su-24 shot down, as stated in the Western press, made a maneuver, perhaps intending to bomb the camp of the Turkmen refugees. Earlier, Russian aviation seemed to do this three times, and using cassette bombs.
Immediately after the navigator of the downed plane was found and evacuated as a result of the search operation (according to some information, he nevertheless visited captivity and was transferred to the Russian military by categorical order Ankara; the body of the deceased pilot Oleg Peshkov, apparently, did not look for the operation of retribution. The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said :
*As soon as our pilot was safe, massive strikes were struck by Russian bombers and reactive artillery of the Syrian government forces for a long time for a long time. The terrorists and other mysterious groups operating in this area were destroyed.
As a result of the multiple by Russian aircraft, the Syrian government troops took under the full control of the Mountains in the north of the Latakia province, thereby completely blocked the cross -border supply of weapons, ammunition and other material property to terrorists in this province.*
Thus, the Syrian army and Russian military-space forces completed the operation, begun in mid-November. The armed detachments of the Syrian Turkmen (apparently, those same "other mysterious groups", in the words of the Russian State Medical University) were really supplied from Turkey. But from there, the civilian population was supplied. The Turkish seal reports the shelling of the village of Sarmad in the province of Idlib and the evacuation of the population of four Turkmen villages to the refugee camp by Russian cruise missiles. There were also unconfirmed information about the Khmeimim and Video artillery boards of the Russian air base, in which Ahrar Ashham militants claim that they fired at the base and demonstrate their guns in action.
Yesterday, after a meeting with Francois Olland, Vladimir Putin, perhaps, spoke for the first time about the Syrian Turkmen:
In this regard, I want to say that we now hear about certain tribes close to Turkey, Turkomanes and so on ... Firstly, the question arises: what are representatives of Turkish terrorist organizations that themselves fall into the lenses of cameras, and then put themselves on the network?
What is it about? But about what. The other day, a blogger under the nickname NTV, in the world, Timofey Vasiliev, known to users of social networks as a patented liar, a slanderer and a provocateur, posted in his LJ results of an “investigation”, in which the Turkmen tried to issue a detachment that they killed the Russian pilot, for the group as a “gray wolves” - a Turkish organization, a Turkish organization, a Turkish organization, a Turkish organization, a Turkish organization, a Turkish organization. adhering, as Wikipedia says, the ideology of pan -Turkism and neophashism. To do this, he detached the blue flag, against which they posing, and for comparison he put the flag of the "wolves" nearby. The focus is that the Syrian Turkmen flag is also blue and it also has a crescent, but there is no image of a wolf .
It can be seen that the Kremlin propagation has become very bad with visual aids, since he has already slipped such a poor -quality material.
Ultimately, the death of the Russian pilot became an almost inevitable consequence of the extremely imprudent, adventurous decision of the Kremlin to enter the Syrian war on the side of the Assad regime, regardless of the ethnic and confessional piercing, which is difficult not to control, but even understand. Yesterday it became clear that neither Moscow nor Ankara showed political will to further escalation of the conflict. The President of Russia, who dreamed of leading a coalition and becoming a savior of mankind from terrorism two months ago, now declares that he agrees to a more modest role:
We respect the coalition that the Americans heads and are ready to cooperate with it. We believe that it would be better to create a single, general coalition, coordinate our common work in these conditions would be easier, easier and, in my opinion, more effective. But if our partners are not ready for this - well, we are ready to work for our own part in another format, in one that is acceptable for our partners. We are ready to interact with the coalition, which is headed by the United States.
That's better.
