The Cabinet of Ministers of Germany approved the participation of the Armed Forces in the anti -terrorist operation against the Islamic State. According to TASS, the maximum number of Bundeswehr military personnel who can take part in the mission in Syria and Iraq will be 1.2 thousand people, the mission is limited to one year, but can be extended. Now participation in the operation should approve the German parliament.

The Federal Republic of Germany is going to send Tornado reconnaissance aircraft to Syria, frigate and refueling aircraft to support operations to combat IS. At the same time, the Minister of Defense of Germany Ursula von der Layen excluded the possibility of cooperation with the army of the Syrian President Bashar al -Assad to combat IS. "There will be no future with Assad, there will be no interaction with the troops under the command of Assad," she said.

According to General Inspector Bundeswehr Folker Vicer, the operation may become the largest of the current foreign Bundeswehr missions. Vicker emphasized that it starts immediately after receiving the mandate.

On Wednesday, the kingdom in the military operation in Syria intends to discuss the UK parliament. “We intend to hold a debate and voting to expand the military operations against ISIS in Iraq,” said the country's Prime Minister David Cameron.

After a series of terrorist attacks on November 13 in Paris, French President Francois Hollande proposed to form a "large and unique coalition" of countries ready to fight the Islamic State. Russia stated that she agreed to join such a coalition, if its members “respect Syria sovereignty”, that is, they will not oppose the dictator Bashar al -Assad.
