International Memorial Program until December 21

The international historical, human rights and charitable society "Memorial" announced the program of events for December 5-21, 2015.

December 5 at 18:00 and December 6 at 14:00 - excursion “dare to go to the square? Chronicle of Moscow Protests 1860-1980s "

The tour participants will have to go through Moscow squares-from the triumphal through Pushkinskaya, Tverskaya and Manezhnaya to Red-and recall the protests of students of the XIX century, August 25, 1968, demonstrations of the Crimean Tatars, the speeches of the Smogists and other cases of a peaceful struggle for freedom in the squares of Moscow.

The international memorial continues the cycle of expert lectures and discussions according to the current state, problems and prospects for the development of the Russian state and society "in which country we live." The picture, the premiere of which took place at the 2013 Venice Film Festival, completes the Vaidov trilogy about man and power. “A man from marble” (1976) was the first film to make a tough calculation with the Stalin era, “A man from iron” (1981) documented “in hot pursuit” of the event at the 1980 Gdan Shipyard. Now, after 30 years, Vaida turned to the biography of the leader of the “solidarity” of Lech Valensa, showing his social activity in inextricable connection with the most important events of private life.

December 20 at 16:00 - New Year's holiday for refugee children

The holidays will be held by volunteers and senior wards of the Center for Adaptation and Education of Children of Refugees of the Committee “Civil Assistance”, in which more than 70 children from Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine, Central Asian and Africa are engaged. The theme of the holiday will be Robin Hood - for several months children read about him, play and prepare for the holiday.

Wards, their parents, volunteers and friends of the center are invited.

The program is game-performance and treat.

December 21 at 18:30 - meeting with historian Boris Kolonitsky

In 2015–2016, the cycle “Historian behind the workbench” hosts monthly meetings-Besets with scientists using new approaches and methods in their work, acting as researchers and as organizers of science, archival and museum affairs. In the focus of these meetings, a historian and his creative laboratory, as well as important problems of today's science and the formation of a historical community.
