Activists of the civilian blockade of Crimea allowed to resume the supply of electricity on the Kakhovskaya - Titan branch. This was announced by the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, Ukrainian Pravda reports . According to Chubarov, the activists agreed to mitigate the blockade with President Peter Poroshenko on December 5.

LEP Kakhovskaya - Titan was repaired at the end of November, but activists did not allow to start its operation. The maximum power on this line is 220-250 MW. According to Chubarov, this will provide electricity to social objects in the Crimea.

Chubarov hopes that this gesture of goodwill will lead to the liberation of the Crimean Tatar activists arrested in the Crimea. He warned that if the requirements of the blockade organizers are not fulfilled before the end of December, the power supply will stop again.

In addition, the blockade participants will stop checking vehicles on the border with the peninsula after the decision of the Ukrainian government on the ban on cargo transportation in the Crimea entered into force.

On the night of November 22, as a result of undermining the supports of power lines in the Kherson region, Crimea was disconnected from the energy system of Ukraine. Three of the four lines are still disabled: this is Melitopol - Dzhanka (330 kV), Kakhovskaya - Ostrovskaya (330 kV) and Kakhovskaya - Dzhanka (330 kV).

On December 2, Vladimir Putin launched the first thread of the Energomost from the Kuban to the Crimea. Connecting the second branch of the energy departure is expected in April 2016.
