Eldar Ryazanov in his work was close to everyone, Moscow, 1995
He forced himself to talk about himself twice within a month. On November 18, Eldar Ryazanov turned 88 years old. On this occasion, the Facebook public lovingly practiced about the sign of double infinity and the coming immortality. The director was mortal, which we learned about on the last day of the calendar autumn and for what, I must honestly, were internally tragically ready - the yellow press generally buried it several times. And the films - that is, him, Eldar Alexandrovich Ryazanov, the immortal soul - yes, they will survive him for a long time, forever.
The whole study can be written (probably, they wrote and write) about why everyone was waiting, so excitedly discussed and so close to the heart was taken by Ryazanov’s films. One of the versions - because he showed everyone a simple, at the same time dramatic and ridiculous line of his life: in his youth a carnival night, a hussar ballad, then give a mournful book, zigzag of good luck, an official romance, a garage, a cruel romance, life without love, old nags, and finally, the heaven is promised. The look at the life of any person, even a professor, even a professor, at least a washer of cars. Not universal injustice, as often in pride we think about our personal problems, but the irony of fate ...
But there is another version of our love for him, even easier. Ryazanov was a kind person. Rare quality in general, even less often found in art. He, Duraleev, regretted us. In the films, he has a lot of nasty heroes that we hate in life. And in the cinema we laugh at them - we laugh in relief, silently, joyfully, cleansing the soul of someone else's evil and our own fear. In life, we hardly let the relatives of their sins, and Ryazanov hugged the viewer by the shoulders and said: they are weak, forgive them.
To be honest, it was difficult to expect from this person who wrote subtle lyrical poems, such stiffness in recent years. Not in cinema, in life. He had a difficult relationship with the Soviet government, he had hope for Yeltsin, which he shot the film about, and with the current government there was neither understanding nor even relations. Only denial - because, probably, what he saw: it is ruthless. Understanding is possible in the human world, where there are some passions, except for power and profit. I think he realized that these are hopeless.
But if you give yourself labor and recall the paintings of Eldar Ryazanov objectively, then everything becomes clear. The author of the “garage”, “beware of the car” and “poor hussar” could not think and act differently. In these ironic, elegant, thinly written out and richly orchestrated comedies of a steel rod. Everything is excusable - except for lies, arrogant money -grubbing and neglect of human life. There are some things and concepts that cannot be crossed.
It is far from our post -Soviet comedies from our post -Soviet comedies again. They are terribly relevant. Scary.
