Turner's Prize was won by Assemble Group

The London Assemble team, working in the field of architecture and design, was the laureate of the Turner Prize of 2015. The award was awarded for the project on the reconstruction of residential buildings for the poor in Liverpool.

The award ceremony took place in Glasgow on Monday, December 7th. According to The Art Newspaper , the jury of the award says that the long -term Assemble project “shows the importance of how artistic practices can solve the pressing problems of the post -industrial era.”

Together with local residents , Assemble reconstructed 10 houses in the Liverpool district of Tokstet, BBC notes.

The Turner Prize is annually awarded the artist working in the UK for the best exhibition or other presentation of his work during the year. The finalists are chosen by the jury under the chairmanship of the director of the Gallery Tate.

In addition to Assemble , Nicole Wormers was nominated for the prize this year - for the installation of “Infrastructure” from chairs and fur coats in the Held Street London Gallery, Jenis Karbel - for the opera performance “Doug” , shown in the Library of Mitchell (Glazgo), Bonnie Kamlin - for the exhibition - for the exhibition "Military-Industrial Complex" in the gallery of South London.

Turner prize laureate receives a cash prize of 25 thousand pounds, the remaining finalists - five thousand each.
