In the Taganrog City Court of the Rostov region, preliminary hearings were held in the case of the local activist Elizabeth Tsvetkova. The lawyer of the accused Yuri Chupilkin reported this to the Franes. The 31-year-old Tsvetkova was imputed in the city of leaflets with police criticism. Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (the excitement of hatred or hostility on the basis of belonging to the social group "Police officers"), the activist threatens up to four years of the colony.

Preliminary hearings took two meetings - December 7 and 8. Chupilkin sought recognition unacceptable and excluding a number of evidence from the case. In particular, one of the examinations in the case was carried out at the forensic center of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The specialists of this center, the lawyer noted, "obviously cannot objectively answer the question about the leaflet with criticism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, so they themselves belong to the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs."

The case file also contains three conclusions of the linguists of the same center of Melnikova and Gurova. “All three,” said Chupilkin, “were carried out at different times, in different criminal cases, were appointed by various investigators, but at the same time all three are identical, in content - a continuous identity.” Melnikova and Gurov, continued the lawyer, set up only new dates, as well as the names and positions of investigators, and the research part and conclusions were left unchanged.

The lawyer also pointed out a number of other violations in the case.

Nevertheless, the judge, whose surname Chupilkin did not specify, refused to exclude evidence as unacceptable.

The trial on the merits of the case will open on December 21. The start of the meeting at 9 o’clock. During these hearings, it is supposed to interrogate five witnesses of the prosecution.

According to the plot of the case, Tsvetkova downloaded a leaflet from the police from VKontakte, printed it and on the eve of the celebration of the day of the internal affairs bodies in November 2014, she stuck at public transport stops and lampposts. Tsvetkova did not admit guilt and refused to testify.

In August, the investigation in the case was completed . The indictment was approved on the second attempt in November.

At the same time, Chupilkin notes, the investigation was ignored by a study conducted by the head of the sociology of culture and the spiritual life of the Nizhny Novgorod State University, Dr. of sociology, Vladimir Kozyrykov. The professor came to the conclusion that "the concept of the police (police) from a sociological point of view expresses not a social group, but a social institution," and therefore, there can be no talk of any excitation of hatred in relation to the social group "police officers".

The case of Tsvetkova was reported back in early February , but the surname of the accused was not revealed in the media - in the publications it took place as Elizabeth Ts.

Then it became known that a similar case was initiated against another resident of the Rostov region-28-year-old Igor Kulagin from Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. At the same time, Kulagin did not get in touch after the search on January 23. Activists did not exclude that he was arrested.

On March 31, Kulagina was received by the Kamensky district court. He was charged with two episodes under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code. According to the indictment, which was approved by the city prosecutor Rostislav Gladyshev, the first episode was that on January 26, 2014, Kulagin placed on his VK page "photographs of an extremist leaflet with an incentive statement calling for hostile actions in relation to police officers." The second episode was that from November 9 to 11, Kulagin put leaflets directed against the police in his city, and published a photo report on the action on his page on the social network.

The trial of Kulagin went to one meeting. On May 12, Judge Elena Krasnova sentenced the activist a conviction. To what kind of punishment Kulagin was sentenced to, was not reported.
